Красный Шрам окутал своим кровавым покровом все пространство вдоль центральных глубин сегментума Ультима. Звездная, кроваво-красная пустыня, опасная для человека. Солнца, заключенные в ее границах, независимо от размера, также были кроваво-красного цвета. Смертоносная радиация поглотила этот сумрачный субсектор, делая его миры безлюдными. Империум давным-давно вышел за пределы разумного. Возможно, именно из-за этой ситуации, планеты Шрама были богаты экзотическими ресурсами, и целые поколения людей проживали свои короткие жизни под мрачными звездами, завися от воли Высших Лордов Терры.
